2 Suit Spider Solitaire
Medium difficulty with spades and hearts. Free in your browser, no download or login.
2 suit Spider Solitaire uses spades and hearts. It's the medium difficulty step up from 1-suit. You can place any card on a card one rank higher, but only same-suit sequences move as a group and score as completed runs. A good challenge for players who've mastered the basics. Play free in your browser, with no download and no login.
How 2 suit differs from 1 suit
In 1-suit every card is a spade, so every ordered stack can move as one block. In 2-suit the deck is half spades and half hearts. Putting a 7 of hearts on an 8 of spades is legal, but it splits the column into two blocks that move separately. A run only clears to the foundation when it goes King to Ace in a single suit. You need all 8 runs to win.
With only two suits, you can often fix a mixed stack later. That makes 2-suit the best place to learn the habits that 4-suit demands.
Typical win rates
Experienced players win roughly 50 to 70% of 2-suit games. That compares with 90%+ on 1-suit and 6 to 10% on 4-suit. Some deals cannot be won, so a loss is not always your fault.
Tips for 2 suit games
- Prefer same-suit moves. Use mixed-suit moves to turn over a face-down card, not just to tidy up.
- Work on the columns with the fewest face-down cards first. Emptying a column gives you room to sort runs.
- You cannot deal from the stock while any column is empty, so fill gaps with useful cards before each deal.
- Undo is unlimited. Use it to check where a move leads, and the Hint button when you are stuck.
