What percentage of Spider Solitaire games are winnable?
Experienced players win about 90% or more of 1-suit games, around 50 to 70% of 2-suit games, and roughly 6 to 10% of 4-suit games. The suit count is the reason. A group of cards only moves as a unit when it is a same-suit descending run, so more suits mean fewer legal group moves and more games that stall. In theory, about 35% of 4-suit deals are winnable with perfect play, but perfect play does not exist in practice, which is why real win rates fall to single digits. Skill still matters a lot. Start with 1-suit, then step up to 2-suit as you improve.
